PesaPap and the *325# USSD Code
PesaPap is Family Bank’s mobile banking platform, available both as an app and as a USSD menu on *325# for phones without internet access. Through *325# you can move money between M-Pesa and your Family Bank account, check your balance, request a mini or full statement, pay bills such as KRA, KPLC, and DSTV, and apply for a PesaPap mobile loan. To send money from your Family Bank account to an M-Pesa number, dial *325#, log in, select the M-Pesa option, then choose either “to own number” or “to other mobile” and follow the prompts.
How Fees Actually Work
Family Bank’s published Tariff Guide lists a charge of KES 35 for an M-Pesa-to-Family Bank-account transfer through paybill 222111, and KES 80 for a Family Bank-to-M-Pesa transfer in the other direction, both subject to 10% excise duty on top. These are the bank’s own published figures, but tariff guides do get revised over time.
Troubleshooting
I entered the wrong account number — what now?
Contact Family Bank customer service immediately with your M-Pesa transaction code so they can trace the payment. Family Bank cannot automatically redirect a deposit sent against an incorrect account number.
My M-Pesa payment isn’t reflecting in my Family Bank account
Check your M-Pesa confirmation message to confirm the paybill and account number were entered correctly. If they’re correct and the deposit still hasn’t reflected, contact Family Bank directly with your M-Pesa transaction code — most crediting is instant, but delays can happen on either network.
I forgot my PesaPap PIN — how do I reset it?
Family Bank’s PesaPap FAQs confirm you can change your M-Pin through the app or USSD menu. If you’re locked out entirely, visit a Family Bank branch or call customer care to have it reset.
