Project Assessments — May to July 2026
Not all KJSEA 2026 assessments happen in October. Three subjects have project components that were assessed earlier in the year:

Special Needs & Braille Provisions
KNEC has made specific provisions for candidates with special needs in the 2026 KJSEA. Every written paper has a Braille version with additional time. Hearing Impaired candidates also have a separate provision for English Language papers:

What Candidates Must Know Before KJSEA Exam Day
These are the official KNEC rules that every Grade 9 candidate sitting KJSEA 2026 must follow. Violations can lead to cancellation of results for the entire subject — or the entire exam.
- Arrive and be seated at your desk 15 minutes before each session. A late candidate must give a satisfactory reason. Anyone more than 30 minutes late will not normally be admitted.
- Write all answers in black or blue ink (fountain pen or ballpoint). Do not use erasable pens.
- Use pencil only for diagrams and shading of multiple choice answer sheets.
- Your name, assessment number, and date must be written on every answer booklet before submission.
- You may only use KNEC-printed Mathematical tables — no extra notes written in them. Non-programmable calculators are allowed where specified.
- Do not copy or give answers to another candidate. Results for the whole subject are cancelled for any candidate found cheating.
- Cell phones and all electronic communication devices are strictly prohibited in assessment centres. Any candidate found with one will have their results cancelled.
- Do not take any question paper, used or unused paper, or rough work out of the assessment room.
- If your question paper has smudges, errors, or missing pages, report to the Supervisor immediately.
- You may not leave the room before the end of the allotted time without special Supervisor permission.
