TSC Leave Application Portal Login: How to Apply for Leave via HRMIS
TSC Leave Application Portal Login doesn’t use a username and password like you’d expect — it’s your TSC Number, National ID, and registered mobile number, followed by an OTP sent by SMS. Once you’re in, the same portal handles Annual, Sick, Maternity, Paternity, Compassionate, Study and several other leave types. Here’s the full login and application process, plus what each leave type actually entitles you to.
How to Log In and Apply for TSC Leave
Go to the TSC Leave Application Portal
Visit hrmis.tsc.go.ke/tm-app/apply_leave on your phone or laptop.
Enter Your TSC Number, ID Number and Mobile Number
There’s no password field — the portal identifies you from these three details, so the mobile number must be the one currently registered with TSC.
Enter the OTP Sent to Your Phone
A six-digit one-time code arrives by SMS. Enter it and click Login.
Click the “+ Submit” Button
Your dashboard auto-fills your name, school, and TSC number, and detects whether you’re primary or post-primary. Click the plus icon to start a new application.
Select Leave Type and Enter Dates
Choose from the listed leave types, then enter your start and end dates.
Attach Supporting Documents
Click the attachment icon to upload documents where required — for example, a medical certificate for sick leave, or a birth notification for maternity leave.
Submit and Track Approval
Your application routes to your Head of Institution first, then to the Sub-County or County Director. Check progress any time under “My Applications.”

What is my TSC Leave Application Portal login?
There’s no separate username and password. You log in with your TSC Number, National ID Number, and registered mobile number, then enter an OTP sent to that phone.
Why haven’t I received my OTP?
This usually means the mobile number on your TSC record is outdated, wrong, or has since been reassigned. The number must match what TSC has on file for you, not just your current SIM.
Who approves my leave application?
Your application first goes to your Head of Institution for recommendation, then to the Sub-County or County Director of Education for final approval. You can track the status of each stage from your dashboard.
Which leave types can I apply for on the portal?
The HRMIS leave module covers Annual, Sick, Maternity, Paternity, Pre-Adoptive, Compassionate, Study, Special, Compulsory, and Spouse-of-Diplomat leave.
How many days of maternity and paternity leave am I entitled to?
Under the TSC circular effected from February 2022 in line with the 2021-2025 CBA, female teachers get 120 calendar days of maternity leave and male teachers get 21 days of paternity leave, both with full pay. Teachers do not forfeit annual leave for having taken maternity leave.
Login fields verified against the HRMIS leave portal (hrmis.tsc.go.ke), July 2026. Leave entitlements cross-checked between TSC’s official leave-information pages (tsc.go.ke) and TSC’s February 2022 maternity/paternity circular; where TSC’s own pages are outdated, this is noted above.
