I Thought You Should Know

These tariffs fall under the SHIF surgical package, which limits households to 3 minor, 2 major, and 1 specialized procedure per year. Major and specialized urological procedures — such as transplant surgery, radical prostatectomy, or nephrectomy — require Level 4–6 facilities with at least two operating theatres.

Selective procurement applies to some urological procedures. Cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular, urology, and transplant surgeries are subject to selective procurement by SHA — meaning not every facility offering a procedure is automatically contracted to provide it under SHIF. Confirm with the hospital that the specific procedure is covered before admission.
