NCBA Bank Paybill Number: 880100
NCBA Bank’s M-Pesa paybill number is 880100. It deposits money from M-Pesa into any NCBA account using your account number as the reference. NCBA is also one of the few Kenyan banks with two active USSD codes side by side, a legacy of its 2019 merger between CBA and NIC Bank.

Two USSD Codes: *654# and *488#
NCBA Bank Kenya was formed from the 2019 merger of Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) and NIC Bank. Rather than force every customer onto a single new code, NCBA’s own Channels FAQ confirms mobile banking is still split by legacy customer base: *654# for customers who originally banked with CBA, and *488# for those who originally banked with NIC. Both give access to balances, transfers, and mobile banking security settings — the code you use just depends on which bank you originally joined.
How Fees Actually Work
NCBA’s own published Tariff Guide lists a Mobile Payments Incoming charge for Paybill of KES 40, alongside a separate Buy Goods charge of 0.5% of transaction value. This is NCBA’s own bank-side charge, and it applies in addition to whatever Safaricom’s standard Lipa na M-Pesa paybill tariff adds on the M-Pesa side.
Troubleshooting
I entered the wrong account number — what now?
Contact NCBA’s customer contact centre immediately with your M-Pesa transaction code so they can trace the payment. A deposit sent against an incorrect account number will not automatically move to the right account.
My M-Pesa payment isn’t reflecting in my NCBA account
Check your M-Pesa confirmation message to confirm 880100 and your account number were entered correctly. If they’re correct and the deposit still hasn’t reflected, contact NCBA directly with your M-Pesa transaction code.
Which USSD code do I use if I’m not sure whether I was originally CBA or NIC?
If you’re unsure, try either code — *654# or *488# — and log in with your registered mobile number. If neither recognises your account, contact NCBA’s contact centre for confirmation of which legacy system your account sits on.
